A discussion forum for people living with diabetes and those involved in diabetes care in the UK. September 25th - October 31st 2005

About the Inquiry

Diabetes Dialogue is about helping to assess the state of diabetes healthcare in your area and across the UK. Contributions are welcome from the general public but the discussion is aimed particularly at people living with diabetes or those involved in diabetes care.

The site is sponsored by Diabetes UK and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes, and managed by the Hansard Society.

The first Diabetes Dialogue consultation took place earlier in the year at www.tellparliament.net/diabetes. The conclusions were presented by Adrian Sanders MP to Rosie Winterton MP, Minister of State for Health Services, in Parliament during March 2005. The report from the first Diabetes Dialogue is available to download or in hard copy.

The Minister welcomed the findings and picked up directly on many issues, including the importance of DAFNE education programmes, improvements to paediatric care across the UK and addressing concerns about a “postcode lottery”.

This second consultation presents an opportunity to determine where progress has been made and where improvements are still needed.
